Carter & Fitch Washington: Review

Hello hello hello. I hope you've all had a lovely bank holiday..the extra day to chill is just the BEST right? I'm currently in bed writing this blog post whilst watching Game of Thrones. I've finally decided to jump on the bandwagon as everyone talks about how amazing is it..I know I'm a little behind the times! Don't haaaaateeeee :/

Anyhooooo on Saturday I went out for lunch and cocktails with the girls and for once I didn't venture into Newcastle. Infact, I stayed in my hometown, Washington and enjoyed an afternoon in the impressive new pizzeria and smokehouse Carter & Fitch.

Carter & Fitch has well and truly upped Washington's eatery game by opening this stylish restaurant on site of the George Washington Hotel. When walking into the venue, I was pleasantly surprised by modernised decor and large bar area. I was taken in by the fashionable titled floor, the exposed brick and copper lighting. Oh and of course the main attraction, the pizza oven towards the back of the restaurant.

First things first we ordered some cocktails, it was bank holiday after all right? All cocktails were around the £7 mark and VERY tasty.

Onto the food! There was a wide variety on the lunch menu including sandwiches, pizzas, platters and a smoked section. The majority of us went for the deal which entailed of a starter and any pizza for £9.95. I couldn't say 'no' to the pizza as we were sat right next to the pizza oven, where it was going to be freshly made.

For starter we all opted for the Thai Fishcakes, they were tasty but a little bit on the hot side for me. Also I think I would of been a little disappointed if I didn't get the deal and pay £3.50 for this dish, as the portion size was quite small. Nevertheless, still worth a try if you like spicy food.

For main, I went for the Chorizo di Pollo pizza, Mel went for the Fungi and Sarah went for a pizza from the specials board. I can't remember the name of the pizza but it was covered in pork made with five spices. All pizza were thin crust with a super soft centre and a crispy edging..YUM! Emily went for the pulled pork burger which was served with spicy wedges and a BBQ dip. Everyone absolutely loved their mains, my pizza was simply...DELICIOUS! I couldn't finish it all but the waitress kindly boxed it up so I could take it home.

Carter & Fitch have a great outdoor area with a number of seats and heated umbrellas. I can already see myself now, chilling outside with a cocktail in hand in the Summer! If Summer ever making an appearance? Anyone else sick of this crap weather? :(

Overall, we were all surprised how we haven't ventured to Cater & Fitch before now, especially how we live in Washington. We all can't wait to return and try out more of their cocktails aswell as their dinner menu.

I will definitely be coming next time with an empty stomach so I can try something from their pudding menu. It all sounds DREAMY!
