What's New In My Makeup Bag?

I wanted to share with you a few new bits that I have added to my makeup bag recently, some I have been trying out for a while and some I've literally bought within the last few weeks. Sooooooooo here goes...

Nouveau Lashes Conditioning Serum – £14.99
If you are a regular reader of my blog,  you will know I have had the LVL Lash treatment and absolutely loved it (Click HERE to read all about it). After having the treatment I was advised to use the Nouveau Lashes Conditioning Serum twice a day to maintain longer, stronger and fuller lashes. As I am a member of Nouveau Lashes #lashgang, I had already been kindly given this produce to try and I have to admit I didn't actually think this would work. However, the days I didn't apply the serum to my lashes, my lashes would point in different directions and my mascara wouldn’t go on as nicely without causing clumps. To make sure I always apply the serum, I popped it into my everyday makeup bag so I didn’t forget. Now my eyelashes are starting to go back to normal as the LVL treatment is wearing off, I still find myself apply the serum before my makeup routine as it gives my lashes that extra lift and also separates my lashes really well before adding mascara. I would definitely recommend this product if you’re going to get LVL treatment or looking for something to give your lashes a little bit of a pamper.

Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara - £3.30
First things first the packaging, well it does nothing for me. I know, I know, it’s all about what’s inside that counts but when searching through the Essence mascaras in Wilkinsons I was in two minds whether to buy it or not because of the packaging (hands on eyes monkey face emoji). Nevertheless, one of my friends has been ranting and raving about Essence mascaras for a while so I popped it in my basket. I have been trailing this mascara daily for a week now and I have to say I am EXTREMELY impressed with the dramatic results. The curve of the bristles manages to grab onto lashes I didn’t even know I had and it gives my lashes the best volume and length. I do find one coat is enough as my lashes begin to stick together but for a low prices product this mascara is dreammmmmmmmmy! I don’t know if it will be a mascara that will stay in my makeup bag forever but it definitely here to stay for now!

Dunes At Dusk MAC Gleamtones Powder - £25.50
Okay, so I am in LOVE with this product and it will never leave my makeup bag until it eventually runs out! This Gleamtones Powder is from the Vibe Tribe collection that MAC has recently launched for Summer 2016. As my Soft and Gentle highlighter had recently run out I HAD to purchase this product, I mean look at the packaging, it’s just amazing right?  I have been using this product as a highlighter but I don’t see why you couldn’t use a small brush and use the warm tone as a bronzer.  As this product does have a selection of four shades to work with, I have been customising a different tone each time when using it as a highlighter, depending if I’m looking for a warmer or cooler tone on my skin. The texture is incredibly and blends flawlessly on my skin. I couldn’t recommend this product enough, if you can still get your hands on one honestly....buy buyyyy buyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Sleek Cream Contour Kit – Medium - £10.99
It is safe to say that contouring is the in thing at the minute and it’s not going anywhere, anytime soon. Of course like most girls, I wanted to see what the fuss was all about but I’m not going to lie, I was a little unsure about what to purchase as I have seen some DISGUSTING contoured faces (eeeeeeeek). After seeing Sleeks Cream Contour Kit for only £10.99 in Superdrug, I thought what better way to start then buying something quite cheap and brand new. This Sleek Cream Contour Kit has been in my makeup bag for just over a month now and I LOVE it. I have found the kit really easy to use, especially for a first timer like myself. It is easy to blend and doesn't feel too thick on your face. For £10.99, I don’t think you can go wrong with this product especially if you’re new to contouring like me! Oh, and it has a little guide to help you figure out where to put the six different shades in different areas of your face..WINNER!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – Copenhagon - £5.50
If you didn't know already NYX Cosmetics has finally hit Boots stores. Wooohoooo! I couldn’t be happier as I have wanted to try their products for so long. The product that caught my eye when looking around Boots Metrocentre has to be the Soft Matt Lip Creams. The price of each lip cream was only £5.50 and the colour selection was endless. I purchased a few colours but’ Copenhagen’ has got to be my favourite. I just ADORE the colour and if you are anything like me and LOVE colours like Diva or Rebel from MAC you will LOVE this colour to. In terms of apply the product, the cream sets relatively quickly and stays on your lips for round 2/3 hours.

What product could you not leave the house with?
Have you tried any of these products yet?

Hope you’ve enjoy reading ‘What’s new in my makeup bag?’

Carter & Fitch Washington: Review

Hello hello hello. I hope you've all had a lovely bank holiday..the extra day to chill is just the BEST right? I'm currently in bed writing this blog post whilst watching Game of Thrones. I've finally decided to jump on the bandwagon as everyone talks about how amazing is it..I know I'm a little behind the times! Don't haaaaateeeee :/

Anyhooooo on Saturday I went out for lunch and cocktails with the girls and for once I didn't venture into Newcastle. Infact, I stayed in my hometown, Washington and enjoyed an afternoon in the impressive new pizzeria and smokehouse Carter & Fitch.

Carter & Fitch has well and truly upped Washington's eatery game by opening this stylish restaurant on site of the George Washington Hotel. When walking into the venue, I was pleasantly surprised by modernised decor and large bar area. I was taken in by the fashionable titled floor, the exposed brick and copper lighting. Oh and of course the main attraction, the pizza oven towards the back of the restaurant.

First things first we ordered some cocktails, it was bank holiday after all right? All cocktails were around the £7 mark and VERY tasty.

Onto the food! There was a wide variety on the lunch menu including sandwiches, pizzas, platters and a smoked section. The majority of us went for the deal which entailed of a starter and any pizza for £9.95. I couldn't say 'no' to the pizza as we were sat right next to the pizza oven, where it was going to be freshly made.

For starter we all opted for the Thai Fishcakes, they were tasty but a little bit on the hot side for me. Also I think I would of been a little disappointed if I didn't get the deal and pay £3.50 for this dish, as the portion size was quite small. Nevertheless, still worth a try if you like spicy food.

For main, I went for the Chorizo di Pollo pizza, Mel went for the Fungi and Sarah went for a pizza from the specials board. I can't remember the name of the pizza but it was covered in pork made with five spices. All pizza were thin crust with a super soft centre and a crispy edging..YUM! Emily went for the pulled pork burger which was served with spicy wedges and a BBQ dip. Everyone absolutely loved their mains, my pizza was simply...DELICIOUS! I couldn't finish it all but the waitress kindly boxed it up so I could take it home.

Carter & Fitch have a great outdoor area with a number of seats and heated umbrellas. I can already see myself now, chilling outside with a cocktail in hand in the Summer! If Summer ever making an appearance? Anyone else sick of this crap weather? :(

Overall, we were all surprised how we haven't ventured to Cater & Fitch before now, especially how we live in Washington. We all can't wait to return and try out more of their cocktails aswell as their dinner menu.

I will definitely be coming next time with an empty stomach so I can try something from their pudding menu. It all sounds DREAMY!

Hope you're enjoyed reading yet another foodie review.
